Ears can hurt a lot if you can’t equalize pressure. This happens when something is blocking it. To combat ear block, don’t fly when you’re congested, and if you have a problem, try climbing back up and clearing your ears periodically as you descend. If you can’t clear, see a doctor when you get on the ground. Make sure your passengers are aware of this as well. If you are flying with a sinus issue, the lower the altitude the better (but stay safe).
