ADM is the systematic approach to decision making. It’s a fancy FAA buzzword, although it has plenty of merit. The important thing to realize is that you must practice good ADM, and this often starts with being conservative and slowly expanding your limits as you learn. Weather and fuel exhaustion kill many pilots because they don’t exhibit the good ADM to say “hey I may not need this fuel stop, but I’d rather have a little extra than not enough.” Life’s too short for fuel sweats.
