Every pilot’s journey begins as a student pilot. Regardless of how far one progresses in their flying, the foundation they receive as a student pilot will be with them for a long time. So, it’s important to start off right. Developing the proper mindsets and habits from the get-go can make the rest of the journey much more fun.

Recognizing this, we’ve crafted a free introductory course to welcome student pilots to the flying community. The course includes an overview of aerodynamics, flight controls, airplane systems, checklist philosophy, and the flight training environment. We selected these particular lessons because we’ve seen first-hand how a general understanding helps students make the most of their flight training.

Training Philosophy

We encourage pilots to anchor themselves to the “big picture”, employing a heuristic mindset in planning, flying, and studying. Accordingly, our courses emphasize fundamental concepts that save lives, including risk management, decision-making, situational awareness, and aerodynamics.
